zoiets zeg je toch niet? Je stigmatiseert wel een hele groep SCARB leden die allemaal echte alfa's zonder plastic bumpers rijden hoor.

Kneuzen zijn het!

Daarom ben ik ook dualist (zowel échte als plastic bumpers), altijd een uitweg.


Dat Engstler niet uit eigen beweging in een sukkelgang gaat rijden snap ik, maar:

Gele vlag
Gezwaaid: Teken voor gevaar op of vlak naast de baan. Rijders moeten snelheid minderen en voorbereid zijn om te stoppen.


Als je op het punt waar je niet door de bocht kan kijken 200 rijdt ben je niet voorbereid om te stoppen. Die gele vlag wordt niet voor niets gezwaaid en het SC bord geeft aan dat er serieus wat aan de hand is.

Anyway, de blunder zit natuurlijk wel bij de bestuurder van de safety car. De Chevy is er nauwelijks lelijker op geworden en voor het team van Engstler is het stevig balen.

The incident that involved the safety car and Franz Engstler’s BMW on the second lap of Pau’s Race 2 was investigated by the panel of the Stewards.
The investigation ascertained that, although the FIA Race Director had started the safety car procedure alerting the marshals for waving the yellow flags and showing the SC boards, the safety car driver had not been given the go. He left the pit lane on his own, steering in the middle of the track instead of using the acceleration lane.
The data logged by the ECU of Engstler’s BMW showed that he actually slowed down and braked as he saw the yellow flags and SC boards on the main straight. However, the German driver – who was leading the race from the eventual winner Alain Menu – could not avoid the crash when came out of Turn 1 and found the safety car cutting across.
The Stewards, taking into account the gravity of the facts, decided to forward their report to the FFSA (French sporting authority), recommending to take appropriate sanctions against Philippe Cholet and Jean-Pierre Colas who were in charge for the safety car and any other responsible official.

Yep, maar nog belangrijker dat de schade tot materiële zaken beperkt is gebleven. Stel dat Engstler die Chevy vol had geraakt ipv geschampt...

Ach, foutjes maken we allemaal, let maar eens op als je zelf op straat bent.



Alleen op zo`n weggetje een race organiseren is vragen om narigheid.

Wedstrijdje ringsteken is daar al link als ik het zo bekijk.

Als je als race team je geld kwijt wilt aan alleen maar reparaties dan hoef je er daar geen moeite voor te doen.

Voor de toeschouwers daarentegen hoogst vermakelijk.......
