eBay, I'm afraid, is almost the only way.ah...ok.
Een aanradertje dus als je een model te pakken kunt krijgen.
I was lucky enough to buy an unbuilt kit of the Bosica 6C1750, a few years ago, in the EUR 400 range... I've seen some selling for the double.
When released in 1981, I was already active in modelling, and one kit landed in the showcase of my usual model shop. The then current, yet accurate for the time, Provence Model kits did sell for BEF 700 circa. The Bosica kit was priced BEF 2000. As I was a student, I would have gone dry if I afforded it, so I had to leave it there .
It eventually cost me EUR 350 more 20 years later.
Now, sincerely, it's both a piece of art and a milestone. Just figure out that no photoetching is involved: all pieces (over 100in total!) are cast or machined, chromed if necessary. That means that, unlike the now current photoetch, all pieces are properly in 3D. I think that kit was yeras ahead of its time as far as the goal of accuracy of details is concerned. Unfortunately, I must say, up to a certain point, the obsession of representing each detail spoils the overall shape and impression of the model. Albeit slightly, some parts are a bit out of scale in order to have the openings working, etc. As Hans noticed, the wire wheels are possibly the best ever produced in 1/43.
