Super! Alessandro =D>

Onwijs mooi

*Up for auction is my modified Alfetta GCL sedan.

The Alfetta GCL (Gold Clover Leaf) was the flagship of the Alfa Romeo range in 1984, being the last and most refined Alfetta available in Australia it was aimed at the company director with a hefty price tag to match.

As many Alfisti know, Alfa make some of the best sport sedans in the world, they share the entire drive train with the sports car models with a more practical sedan body – this car is basically a GTV6 with 4 doors and then some.

**Standard features on the GCL are power windows, power seats, power mirrors, air conditioning, plush interior with 3 interior toggle lights and a row of 3 green interior lights (weird but very 80’s cool) and a trip computer with digital clock – very advanced for the time.

I decided to focus on the SPORTS in sports sedan so here goes the details:

A full engineers report comes with the car and it is noted on the rego papers, this car is 100% legal in NSW.

Engine and exhaust system:
All-alloy Bosch fuel injected 2.5L V6 from a 1985 GTV6 – thought to have head porting and mild cams but I have no proof of this (it was pulled out of a badly hail damaged GTV6 that was modified), it certainly pulls harder than my fathers GTV6 higher up in the rev range and uses little oil, a very healthy motor. The exhaust system has custom twin pipes with mufflers into a single larger diameter pipe that exits out through a Ferrari style chrome twin tip – sounds unreal!

Transaxle (Gearbox and LSD unit):
Recent Alfa 75 TS 5spd Gearbox imported from Italy and installed by Randall Perkins. Fresh Synchros (no crunching/grinding in ANY gear EVER. It also has new LSD clutch plates with one extra clutch added for around 50% lockup – fantastic control in the wet and dry. The gear linkage is a later isostatic linkage from a late model 75 and the shifts are smooth and precise.

Clutch and prop shaft:
The larger V6 clutch shows no sign of slippage and has a light action; prop shaft has no vibrations whatsoever. New clutch master cylinder.

Suspension and steering:
New Bilstien Sport shocks on the front with slightly softer Koni red adjustables on the rear. Thicker torsion bars and a large swaybar are fitted at the front – mounting points have been reinforced professionally. A larger rear swaybar is not on the car but is supplied. The entire steering system has been rebuilt recently.

Brakes and wheels:
The brakes are alloy Brembo items from a GTV6 and 5 stud hubs replace the 4 stud items. The wheels are 6 month old 18” Diablo Racers with new 215/35/18 tyres. The wheels come with a structural warranty, no spacers were used, they are the correct offset and do not rub at all.

Interior:
Italian brand Personal wood gear knob and matching steering wheel. More supportive Alfa 90 velour seats have been fitted front and back, a black 75 carpet finishes it off.

Bodywork:
The car was painted 3 years ago in original Alfa red except clear over basecoat was used for a deep, wet look. The clearcoat was cut back so that it is flat like glass. The door panel gaps are excellent and it is extremely straight when you look down the side of the car. The car was never rusty. The only thing Ive been wanting to change is the bonnet, the inner rails were cut to accept the taller V6 plenum making it look a bit wonky at certain angles. A light fibreglass bonnet with a GTV6 power bulge is available in Sydney, I will supply the bonnet pins to the buyer. The front bumper and splitter is a two-piece fibreglass item (the bottom portion can be taken off quickly with wing nuts – but I always leave it on). The original bumper and indicator assemblies come with the car.

This Alfa comes with 12 months NSW rego and engineers cert. The custom plates NOT 20L (Not a 2.0L) are included with the car!

I have spent somewhere between $20-25,000 on this car and it is mechanically sorted, almost everything has been upgraded or replaced in the last 5-6 years. I am selling it for less than I payed for the paint job. This is not a show car but it presents extremely well, it is perfectly suited to daily driving. The car has not been raced.

The reason for the sale is that I have a 1974 Alfa GTV 2000 that is under full restoration and I need the funds to finish it off to the high standard I look for.

Viewing of the car: It will be on display this Sunday the 13th of August at the Alfa Romeo NSW Owners Club’s Concorso d'Eleganza at Gough Whitlam Park Earlwood. For more details see: http://www.alfaclubnsw.org.au/

@ Hagen 111: dan ben je toch goed gek, als je zo'n auto verkoopt/ weggeeft. :?

voor de liefhebbers wat specs van de mijne:
Alfetta 1.6 bj '81 , maar de looks van '78-'79,
2.0 motor 131 pk, electr. ontsteking, aangepast klassiek luchtfilterhuis,
